Who is the hottest IPL girl? The Result

It's been quite a few days even by the standards of the IPL's publicity hungry machine.

First, we've seen the unseating of the Prince of Darkness himself by his supposed friends and colleagues at the BCCI. Just like Caesar, Lalit Modi appears to be have been stabbed in the back by his erstwhile acquaintances. This one will roll and roll, probably all the way to the start of IPL4 especially with all the lawyers and rumours about match-fixing and spot-fixing.

Then yesterday we saw the triumph of the men in the banana pyjamas as Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians, Sachin Tendulkar and the crowd to win IPL3. The outcome was a bit harsh on Mumbai as they have been the best side this year, but credit must go to MS Dhoni for his excellent captaincy and to his team for winning the final on their opponents home ground. Mumbai in some respects have only themselves to blame for dropping man of the match Suresh Raina too many times and for holding back Kieron Pollard until it was too late.

There has also been another hotly contested battle going on for the last few days that has also seen daggers drawn and lawyers consulted. The battle to find the IPL's hottest girl has certainly captured the imagination, well as least it has on Twitter for a few sad souls like myself.

Who is the hottest IPL girl?

This could run and run and has gone way beyond Shilpa and Preity now...

It all started when I included a picture of Shilpa in a post describing the A-Z of the IPL. Her picture followed C for Celebrity. This mspr1nt  on Twitter to retort that Preity Zinta is much better looking than Shilpa.

 

So, we took it to the blogs. I started with Preity Zeita vs. Shilpa Shetty, and mspr1nt responded on Paddle Sweep with Dirty little girl, Shilpa vs girl next door Preity.

 

And then last night another candidate came into the picture when Yash Desai suggested that Katrina Kaif, who is associated with the Bangalore Royal Challengers was better than both Shilpa and Preity. So that led to this morning's blog Preity Zeita vs Shipa Shetty vs Katrina Kaif. But still the names came in and the standard has arguably got even better.

 

So, now we have six to choose from:

Preity Zinta vs Shilpa Shetty vs Katrina Kaif

Yesterday, whilst most cricket fans were engrossed in the first IPL semi-final between Mumbai and Bangalore, a number of Twitterers were engaged in a much more important contest. That is who is better out of Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty.

 

It all started when I included a picture of Shilpa in a post describing the A-Z of the IPL. Her picture followed C for Celebrity. This prompted some amusement and mirth on Twitter where I was advised by mspr1nt that Preity Zinta is much better looking than Shilpa.

 

So, we took it to the blogs. I started with Preity Zeita vs. Shilpa Shetty, and mspr1nt responded on Paddle Sweep with Dirty little girl, Shilpa vs girl next door Preity. Now mspr1nt made a pretty (if you pardon the pun) compelling case for Preity, but the fact that Shipa was cast as ‘dirty’ would be enough for some men to give her their vote.

 

These posts seemed to create a lot of comment and debate including on Test Match Sofa’s commentary, with the result being fairly even.

 

And then last night another candidate came into the picture when Yash Desai suggested that Katrina Kaif, who is associated with the Bangalore Royal Challengers was better than both Shilpa and Preity.

 

So we decided to investigate and lo and behold we discovered that Yash may have a point.

 

So let’s put it to the test. Is it Shilpa (on the right), Preity (left) or Katrina (bottom) who gets your vote? I should add that not being a fan of celebrity, we promise this is our last word on this. Well maybe!
