In the biggest climbdown since Jack raced down the beanstalk from the Giant or Jacob descended his ladder, Ijaz Butt finally apologised for his unsubstantiated claims against the England team following their defeat to Pakistan in The Oval ODI.
It also seems that he has dedicated a song to Giles Clarke, mindful of the fact that the ECB Chairman's gesture of arranging neutral test matches for his side, is actually doing a lot for Pakistan cricket. In his statement, Butt admitted that "The ECB and its chairman have been and continue to be a friend of and hugely supportive of Pakistan cricket. I am very grateful for their efforts in that regard and for their hospitality this summer."
