The slightly acrimonious departure of Alviro Petersen saw a second successive winter of discontent in Wales. Can they improve on last season's sixth place finish?
Strengths
With the loss of Petersen, the batting will depend heavily on opener Gareth Rees, captain Mark Wallace and William Bragg - the latter two who both reached 1,000 runs last year. The addition of Marcus North and Moises Henriques to share overseas player duties should help lighten the load. England prospect James Harris and spinner Dean Cosker lead the attack.
Weaknesses
A huge load is placed on the young shoulders of Harris as the rest of the seam attack has a pedestrian look to it. The loss of Petersen will only slightly be reduced by the arrival of North, who unlike the South African is past his best.
Main man
Injury restricted him last season, but having had an operation over the winter James Harris is set and raring to go. Glamorgan's fortunes depend heavily on him continuing to impress leading the line and providing useful lower order contributions.
Look out for
Plenty of rancour if Petersen returns to Cardiff with Essex for the Championship game on may 2nd.
Prediction
7th - A season of struggle.
