Those that read this blog even occasionally will know that the Reverse Sweep is no big fan of Twenty 20 cricket - indeed we have likened it in the past to the 'two pumps and a squirt' format of the game.
But even the most ardent follower of the shortest form of the game must admit that a major downside of the franchise circus and freelance cricketer arrangement is that the supposed pinnacle of the Champions League is sullied when a player has a choice of two or more teams for whom to play for. Of course, no-one epitomises the cricket mercenary more than Kieron Pollard.
