Judging by these two videos that we relived once again today, Michael Holding didn't care too much for Yorkshiremen. First of all, there is some brutal bowling at a resolute Brian Close in 1976:

Brian Close was as hard as nails - no helmet and minimal protection. Great fast bowling, the likes of which you don't see today.
Much as I admire some of today's batsmen, try averaging 50+ against that bowling.
