Even though we are big fans of Kevin Pietersen at the Reverse Sweep, we will readily admit that he isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the box. Events over the last few months suggests that when it comes to geography, Pietersen is a bit of a dunce.
Earlier in the summer KP explained that the scarcity of his appearances for Hampshire could be put down to the long and arduous journey from his home to Southampton. He memorably said:
"Geographically it just doesn't work. I live in Chelsea"
These comments proved to be ill-advised as he has since been shunned by Hampshire, which resulted in the ECB going to Surrey cap in hand in order to get Pietersen some first-class cricket after his recent form slump.
So we were quite amused today to read that Pietersen has agreed to play a few games for KwaZulu-Natal in October as part of his battle to regain his mojo ahead of the Ashes.
Now that is a long way from Chelsea, KP!
