I hope the experts are aware of his test record in India. It's a different format alright but he wouldn't have been so prolific if he didn't know how to adjust to these conditions.

Totally agree Mahek. Dropping your captain just a few months before the WC would be madness. Especially as England look like they may have a chance for the first time since 92

Sheer lunacy from the panel. And yes, I would have said that before his 126 (he was dropped early and of course caught behind and not given so his recent innings was hardly proof of his credentials).

He averages nearly 60 over his last 10 ODI innings and there's no-one pressuring him as either captain or opener. And of course there is the turmoil that would be caused by changing captain now. For England to have the best chance of winning the World Cup Strauss needs to play even if he has a shocking run and scores only a handful of runs.

Stewart, Gough and Pringle have made themselves look a bit stupid! Gough was never a tactical mastermind, but I thought better of Stewart and Pringle. I hope the cricketing media don't destabalise England's hopes in the run up to the WC as often happens to the England football team.

Have you noticed how the strike rate of the entire England squad has gone up in ODIs and T20s in the past 12 months? I think this has to do with some of the coaching methods used eg. practicing with much heavier bats. And the 2 prime beneficiaries have been Strauss and Collingwood.

I can't remember the last time I saw anyone massively outscore Strauss at the top of the order. He almost always looks in good touch.

Hopefully this will spur him on even more!
