The Cricket Couch

It wasn't too long ago the Indian pace cupboard looked full, sort of. Zaheer, Sreesanth, Ishant, RP Singh and even Munaf to an extent were performing well. Ishant when he burst on to the scene showed similar things that Aamer is doing right, i.e. Ponting's number. Lets give the boy/man the time and space to develop and check back in 2 seasons. Considering the fact that PCB is at least as retarded as the BCCI, if not more, they prolly don't have plans in place to safeguard their prized possessions from getting derailed (case in point: Asif with the drug issue). We shall see.

@The Cricket Touch. Pakistan has produced number of fast bowler greats over the years. They know how to handle themx, unlike India. Of coarse indian cricket officials have never seen a fastbowler( genuine fast bowler not Irfan Pathans and Sharmas) . India needs a bowling coach from Pakistan, someone who can tell them how to take care of young fast bowlers.

The Reverse Sweep

You are right Cricket Couch to be cautious on Aamer especially with the bugling PCB in charge. Will he kick on and get close (surely he could never surpass) Akram. Or will he tail off like Ishant? Only time will tell.

The Reverse Sweep

You may be right Mohsin. I wonder how much the BCCI would pay Waqar or Wasim?

The Cricket Couch

Let's get this straight. Generally in the sub-continent, players become who they are in spite of the system and not because of the system. Imran Khan played a huge role in the moulding of Wasim (and later, Waqar and Aqib) and it was not the PCB.

Yes, one would hope that with Waqar and Aqib in charge of the team, the bowlers will be taken care of, better. But there is need for the players to play huge number of games, back to back tests etc, unlike the 80's and 90's, that it is impossible for a tearaway fast bowler to be healthy for long time. I hope for Cricket's sake, these three make it through well.

i guess they didn't stupid jokes ruined their ffuture!......
