David, as a fellow Daredevil I'm disappointed in your assessment of the Daredevils stacking the side with batsmen and not spreading the X-Factor over the bowling. Delhi have the best bowling numbers of the 8 teams in terms of average and strike rate. They have the second best economy rate behind Mumbai, and the difference is just 0.02 runs an over.

One of the reasons Mumbai have done so much better than others is they had a very favourable schedule. They played 7 of their first 8 games in Mumbai. One of the games in Mumbai was actually an "away" game. Yeah right, tell that to the Chargers. Contrast this to Chennai and Kolkata who played 5 of their first 7 games away from home and the Chargers who had no home to speak of.

The Reverse Sweep

Mahek, maybe I was being unfair (about the Daredevils, that is!). It's probably just disappointment talking. Mishra and Nannes in particular were pretty impressive. But only Mumbai has shown any sort of consistently, which surely is partly down to having Sachin and a well balanced side. But if the odds were stacked in their favour too...

It's the batting that let us down. We had the third worst batting average and second worst strike rate. The bowling was good for the most part inspite of Nannes and Nehra missing a number of games. In fact, the penultimate game against Chennai was the first one in which both of them played. But the batting was terrible. The biggest opening partnership was just 44. You just can't score big if the middle order keeps getting exposed game after game, even if it's just a 20-over contest.

The Reverse Sweep

Yes, it is the great mystery as to how the batsman you would think would be best suited to T20 doesn't seem to do well i.e. Viru
