Nottinghamshire has confirmed that Graeme Swann was arrested over the Easter weekend for drink driving with Notts police saying "A 31-year-old man was arrested on Byron Road, West Bridgford, at 3.23 am on Friday, April 2 on suspicion of drink-driving."
How boring Swanny. Not that you were drink driving, although don't do it kids because it's dangerous and irresponsible. No boring because it is such a normal thing for a sportsman to do these days.
Surely, if you were intent on drink driving, you could have at least tried to emulate Welsh rugby star Andy Powell.
For those of you with short memories, Powell was arrested at 6am the day after Wales had beaten Scotland in Cardiff in this year's Six Nations. He was caught by police near junction 33 of the M4. So far, so normal. Except that Powell wasn't driving a Mercedes or a BMW. He was driving a golf buggy taken from the resort where Wales were staying - three and a half miles away. Classic.
The full details of Swanny's offence are still too come out. Maybe he was dressed as Batman whilst in charge of a rickshaw he brought home from Bangladesh? We can only hope.
